The Luckiest Friday the Thirteenth

A young couple pulled into the [un-named abortion facility] parking lot. R. [name obscured] offered them a brochure. The young man, about 25 years old, spoke with R., saying that he didn't want the abortion, but she did. R. explained that abortion hurts for a lifetime and encouraged the man to read the "Before You Choose" brochure that includes basic facts on Fetal Development and the insert that lists all the local prolife resources that desire to help. The escorts attempted to interfere and distract the couple from hearing the offer of assistance, but the young people returned to their car and read over the material. After awhile, much to R.'s distress, the couple went on in to the abortion clinic. All the prolife people gathered together in prayer for this couple and their unborn child.

Some time later, the man came out of the clinic and stayed in his car by himself, while the prolife people continued to pray and distribute material to other cars. Eventually, everyone joined together in prayer specifically for this young couple. Hope remained. Forty-five minutes later, the couple left the clinic!!! The woman was driving, but she slowed the car and R. made eye contact with them as they drove out the exit. The man got out of the car and walked towards R. with an expression of joy and victory, saying with tears, "She changed her mind!" R. and the young man exchanged a big hug and then R. spoke to the couple … giving all the credit to God, reminding them of the blessings they have received and emphasizing that they will never regret their decision today for the rest of their lives. R. then brought back the wonderfully Good News to the rest of the group of people who had been praying, bringing everyone much happiness and rejoicing. What a beautiful, uplifting, inspiring experience! A couple chose LIFE for their unborn child due to fervent, unceasing prayer, faithful hope, and a simple, loving Christ-like presence!

The escorts also witnessed all of these events. Their reaction was not one of joy, but one of increased anger and hostility towards those who were present, even the young children. However, we know "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you". - Matthew 5:10-12.
